Well done to Ciaran and the lads in their quest for cup glory. Skerries Town win the Leaver Brothers Cup.4-0
On a beautiful day in the Oscar Traynor, Skerries came out the well deserved winners against St. Joseph's East Wall. St. Joseph's had a lot of possession in the first 15 minutes but once Skerries got the first goal they stayed on top. The 1st goal was a great chip over the goalies head by Lee Bailey. Minutes later it was 2-0 from a great ball through by man of the match Lee Bailey to Barry McDonald who finished it well. 2-0 at half time so it was all to play for. if St. Joseph's scored they were back in it but it was an absolute brilliant goal by Lee Bailey with his left foot from 20 years out on the wing which finished them off. Ian Byrne made it 4 with a header from from a corner by MOTM Lee. From start to finish it was a great display from Skerries. Mark Fagan in goal had very little to do but made two good saves. Solid performances from rightback Fiachra Robinson and left back Aaron Mullen. Another brilliant display by the center half duo of Steven Lawless and Alex Doyle. The midfeilders all had very solid performances, James Mooney, Kevin Coyne and Mark Campion in the middle. Jake Daly and the tireless Ciaran Sheridan + Barry McDonald on the wings. Lee Bailey and Ian Byrne up front played to their fullest with great success. All the Subs got time on the pitch also. Aaron Kenny up front who nearly scored and Daragh McAllister who done very well in mid and last but no means least Nathan Roy.
