Skerries Town met Mid Sutton in the under 11 F league in an early afternoon kick off at the mill pitch. After a 30 minute delay the game finally kicked off at 12.45pm. Mid Sutton came flowing forward with attack after attack and after only 10 minutes Sutton found the back of the net after a mistake in the Skerries defence. Before Skerries could get back into the game Mid Sutton broke down the right wing with a quick passing move to unlock the Skerries defence once again,  finished it off with a great curling shot into the far left corner of the net. Mid Sutton were 2-0 up and in dream land, most of the Skerries players were still dreaming about the Toy Show the night before!!!

It took until the 23min for Skerries to get back into the game, Skerries winning a free-kick just inside the Sutton half, David Ibidokun step forward to put the ball into the box but instead finding the back of the net himself, that was the last action in the first half. The 2nd half began bright for both teams, Sutton had a few chances to extend their lead and Marvellous Onome and Kennedy Eyoazu had a chance each to get the score level, all the action took place in the last 15mins,when first Sutton being awarded a penalty, the Sutton player stepped forward and placed the ball to the keeper left, but Kingsley Nwajei once again got a hand to it to make a great save, this was his 2nd penalty save of the season, from there on in it was all Skerries chance after chance Dion Keogh making the Sutton keeper pull of one the saves of the day and Kennedy having shot after shot blocked, with 6 minutes left on the clock Marvellous and Dion passed their way through the Sutton defence with Marvellous getting the final touch on the ball and finding the back of the net 2-2, 5 minutes left, Skerries pushed forward again Dion picking the ball up just inside the Sutton half and with step over after step over and the odd drop of the shoulder he went past 5 players and with a little help of the under side of the cross bar he found the back of the net.3-2, Skerries were in front with 2 minutes to go, they weren't finished there and the most unexpected scores was yet to come when after a shot from Tommy O' Loughlin, the rebound fell to captain for the day Eoghan Lacey about 25 yards out who hit it first time on the half volley into the top right corner of the net with the keeper looking onwards, every player piled on top of Eoghan with delight, everyone was so happy for him, as this was his first ever goal for Skerries in nearly 2 and a half years playing for the team. FT  score, Skerries 4 Mid Sutton 2. The Skerries players definitely knew they had been in a game today and were lucky to come away with all 3 points. We may never know what they were dreaming about in the first half maybe it was the Toy Show or even Santa only being 26 days away!!!!!
